Winter Is Coming. And You’re Not.

This week on Marketing Monday, OnlyFans, a UK born social media platform for subscription-based ‘exclusive content’,  back in August reported that it will ‘no longer allow sexually explicit material by October, 1st, 2021.  The social media giant, not really known for any other material, cites that the move was made because of the numerous compliance requests from its banks and other financial institutions.

Watch our Marketing Monday report to watch the interview with a local OnlyFans creator, Yannick Thomas.

I can just imagine how the Creators would declare their source of funds at their bank or credit union? The teller might be like, so fill this form that shows how you make your money, and the customer would write, I could teach you, but I’d have to charge. 😉

Earlier this year, St. Lucia unearthed our very own OnlyFans creator, Yannick Thomas, a professional model, actor, brand ambassador and photographer, who leaped to the opportunity as an additional revenue stream.

Later in August, OnlyFans seemed to have  renegotiated their position, stating that it will ‘suspend their ban’ and allow service to continue as normal, a move that would still have its community on their toes.

OnlyFans shot up during the coronavirus pandemic, as online activity and internet content consumption across most platforms stuck at home searched for entertainment online and people let go from their jobs turned to the platform as an alternative way to make a living.

OnlyFans claims to have over 130 million users and 2 million content creators. The company generated net revenue of $375 million last year and expects to bring in 2.5 billion by 2022.
